    ABSTRACT:

Background: There is no doubt that the platelet rich plasma is a common medical technique, that is known as regenerative medicine, through which local and systemic effect of known plasma growth factors occurs activation, cell proliferation and differentiation depending on recovered cell fraction in the final product obtained. Here, a case-control study presented to objectify the benefit of the systemic application of leukocyte plasma growth factors in cerebral palsy patients undergoing specific neurological rehabilitation programs. Material and Methods: In a population of 50 Caucasian patients with age range between 5 and 15 years diagnosed with marked severe generalized spasticity and cerebral palsy, under the same program of neurorehabilitation; an intravenous injection of leukocyte rich plasma (25 ml) was administered in a group of 25 of them. Monitoring the cognitive development it was performed by Barthel scale, before and at 1, 2, 3,4,5 and 6 months after injection. the cell count leukocyte-platelet was determined by coulter type Beckman, as well as insulin-like-1 growh factor (IGF-1), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), vasculo-endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and transforming growth factor B (TGF-B) through specific kits of ELISA in patients before treatment, in the final product, as well as in both groups at 24 hours of the same, a month, 2,3,4,5 and 6 months after treatment. Specific descriptive statistics techniques were use as soon as the F-Fisher test for inferential statistical study of the results. Results: No adverse effects were observed in patients with the exception of a small hematoma in the area of channeling venous access. There has been a clear improvement statistically significant at 2 month follow-up in cognitive sphere (memory, ability to perform more complex tasks, and the acquisition of new skills) clearly higher in the group of patients treated with plasma rich in leukocyte growth factors, (p = 0.013), remaining stable from the 3rd month follow-up. Although at 24 h of therapy in the treatment group, serum levels of growth factors VEGF and TGF-B type increased 5-6 times as compared to baseline reference levels and the control group, statistically significant (p = 0.02) was not obtained correlated with cognitive improvement during 6 months of clinical follow-up, because plasma levels of growth factors obtained were similar in both groups Conclusion: We propose that this therapy is useful in these patients to take the neurostimulator and neuroregenerator power of endogenous growth factors derived from leukocytes, increasing the effect of neurorehabilitation and shortening of cognitive recovery without finding correlated with plasma levels of growth factors obtained during the study of the sample

Aim: To determine the various advancement in restorative composite materials Objective: This review aims towards the understanding of various restorative composite materials available commercially and also the advancement in it. Background: There is mercury present in the silver filling material, called amalgam, in the past century there has been no evidence showing that silver fillings are harmful to patients. But nowadays dentists doesn't use amalgam filling because of its various disadvantages like it can corrode over time, amalgam filling does not bond (hold together) with your tooth etc. Composite fillings are primarily a resin which has been "filled" with other inorganic materials. This compound makes a composite filling more resistant to wear, colour adjustable, and easier to polish. The various composite fillings used are microfilled composites, hybrid composites, nano filled composites. Reason: The reason for this study is to determine the various advancements in restorative materials.

    ABSTRACT:

There are various starting methods to start induction motors among them variable frequency System has more advantages. For controlling the speed of the induction motor we are using pwm technique based on current signature techniques as a feedback of closed loop system. For a all control methods rely on the pwm voltage waveform to control the motor. The difference between control methods lies in how they calculate the motors voltage needs at any given moment. Among these methods we are doing v/f control because it has advantages over all other methods. Hence we are controlling the speed of the motor by using variable frequency system.

    ABSTRACT:

Patients with complete dentures require unique considerations due to their compromised oral anatomy, reduced adaptive capacity, and systemic conditions that further affect denture retention and stability. The use of denture adhesives is common among denture wearers and is also prescribed by many dentists. Denture adhesives add to the retention, stability and thereby improve chewing ability, reduce any instability, provide comfort and eliminate the accumulation of food debris beneath the dentures. Denture adhesive is a material used to adhere a denture to the oral mucosa. In the oral cavity, with the presence of water from saliva, the materials swell and create an adhesion between the denture and the gingiva that improves the retention and stability on denture wearing patients. They also increase the patient’s sense of security and satisfaction.

    ABSTRACT:

This study examines how the theory and application of Business Entity and Objectivity Concepts influence the performance of a firm. It highlights on how these fundamental concepts, under Accounting Concepts, influence the activities and the performance of an organisation. To achieve the objective of this study, comprehensive literature and industrial observations are used. The study finds direct relationship between proper application of business entity and objectivity concepts and the performance of an organisation. It concludes that proper business activities must ignore favouring family and friends (business entity concept) and must be supported with relevant source documents (objectivity concept). Further observation reveals that most family and small-scale businesses (especially owner-managers) do not strictly comply with the two concepts and this normally retards their business operations at the long run. Therefore policy and decision makers, especially owners and managers, of such businesses must strictly apply business entity and objectivity concepts if they want to grow and sustain their businesses at the long run. This paper adds to the existing body of knowledge and serves as a precursor for a future research.

Buerger’s disease is a chronic disorder, also known as Thrombo- AngitisObliterance (TAO). It is a nonatherosclerotic, segmental inflammatory disease that most commonly affects the smalland medium-sized arteries and veins in the upper and lower extremities. It frequently occurs in cigarette smokers. Poor hygiene, genetic factors, autonomic over-activity are other factors for this disease. Buerger’s disease presents with rest pain, intermittent claudication, discoloration and gangrene formation. Clinical features andangiographic finding are the basis of early diagnosis of TAO.Medical management in form of aspirin, pentoxyfyllineand verapamil increase pain-free walkingdistance in intermittent claudication, but long term usage fails to prevent disease progression in patients who continue to smoke.Surgical treatment in form of lumbar sympathectomy andomentopexy help reduce pain andpromote healing of trophic changes. Ayurveda the great science of life has elaborately described leech therapy (Jalaukavcharan) to remove vitiated doshas from affected organ. Leech therapy has its excellence by improving blood circulation through vasodilatation effect.

    ABSTRACT:

After the advent of the Supply Chain Management concept and the transversality of the approach, the research has often shown the superposition of the Supply Chain with the value chain of the company. In fact, the global Supply Chain contributes, through its different functions, to create the company’s value in its operating cycle.Logistics pooling, meanwhile, represents an emerging cooperative logistics strategy to streamline access to resources and maximize their profitability. This streamlining and maximizing can guarantee a real good economic performance for the company in particular and for the co-operators in general. In order to solve our main problem: How the choice of a pooling strategy could impact the economic performance of the company? We present in the current article the different arguments that legitimize the fact that, today, logistics pooling strategies impact the global value chain, using a survey of companies that have implemented such a strategy. This empirical research is a way to analyze the nature of Pooling-Value relationship and it provides the ability to identify the impact on the economic performance of collaborating companies.

    ABSTRACT:

Background: Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world, fourth in Asia & 2nd Muslim nation. Pakistan's population is growing by around two per cent a year but the economy has failed to keep pace with the population growth. Even though family planning programme was started in 1951 but rates of contraceptive use are low particularly in rural Pakistan, which is home to two-thirds of the about 180 million people in the nation. There is a wide range of contraceptives including traditional and modern methods. Lack of knowledge about contraceptive methods is the major constraint of acceptability among rural women in Pakistan. The study was intended to explore the choice and source of knowledge of family planning methods among married women in a rural area of Pakistan. Material & Methods: A quantitative descriptive study of awareness and use of family planning methods among 120 married women aged 18-45 years, attending Reproductive Health Services-A Center (RHS-A) at Taluka Hospital, conducted in Panoaqil, Sindh, Pakistan, between August 2015 to Feb 2016 is reported.Data was collected by trained data collectors through a standardized structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 22 and Microsoft excel. Results: The study sample was young with mean age 29.48 ± 5.05 years. Almost half of the study respondents (44.2%) were illiterate, while 39% were educated up to primary only. Three forth (73%) respondents were housewives. Majority 91.7% of respondents belonged to rural areas having lower socio-economic status. About 80% of respondents heard about at least one method of contraception but only 26% have used one. Current use of family planning methods was low (9.2%) among them. Most preferred method (37.5%) was intrauterine device (IUD), followed by condoms (31.3%), oral contraceptives (25%), injectable contraceptives (15.6%), sub-dermal birth control implants (21.9% ) and withdrawal (12.5%). The sources of knowledge for family planning identified by participants included 38% as Reproductive Health Service (RHS-A) centre, 34% as family planning clinic & 28% as lady health visitor (LHV). Conclusion: The current study concludes that the knowledge of contraception was high among the women interviewed (80%) although only a small percentage (26%) has used one and even a very low percentage (9%) is currently practicing contraception. Most preferred method of choice was intrauterine device (IUD), followed by condoms, oral contraceptives, injectable contraceptives, sub-dermal birth control implants and withdrawal. Reproductive Health Service (RHS-A) centre, family planning clinic & lady health visitor (LHV) were the most popular sources of knowledge for family planning. Our research suggests that improved educational strategies are needed not only to improve the utilization of family planning among Pakistani women especially rural women but also make them aware of modern, more efficient long term methods for child spacing. The findings of the present study can¬not be generalized due to the limited sample. Still, the study provides evidence and guideline for future research to formulate compelling public health interventions.

    ABSTRACT:

Using saliva for disease diagnostics and health surveillance is a promising approach as collecting saliva is relatively easy and non-invasive. Over the past two decades, using salivary biomarkers specifically for early cancer detection has attracted much research interest, especially for cancers occurring in the oral cavity and oropharynx, for which the five-year survival rate (62%) is still one of the lowest among all major human cancers. More than 90% of oral cancers are oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and the standard method for detection is through a comprehensive clinical examination by oral healthcare professionals. Despite the fact that the oral cavity is easily accessible, most OSCCs are not diagnosed until an advanced stage, which is believed to be the major reason for the low survival rate, and points to the urgent need for clinical diagnostic aids for early detection of OSCC. Thus, much research effort has been dedicated to investigating potential salivary biomarkers for OSCC, and more than 100 such biomarkers have been reported in the literature. However, some important issues and challenges have emerged that require solutions and further research in order to find reliable OSCC salivary biomarkers for clinical use. This review article provides an up-to-date list of potential OSCC salivary biomarkers reported as of the fall of 2013, and discusses those emerging issues. By raising the awareness of these issues on the part of both researchers and clinicians, it is hoped that reliable, specific and sensitive salivary biomarkers may be found soon—and not only biomarkers for early OSCC detection but also for detecting other types of cancers or even for monitoring non-cancerous disease activity.
