    ABSTRACT:

The phenomenon of population aging has begun to bring the need for research in this field, since the issue of violence against the elders is not a new event; it is a growing challenge along with this age group. Responding to the call of the World Health Organization, this study aimed to give visibility to the reality of João Pessoa - PB, through the database of denunciations made in the period 2014-2016 to the Municipal Council for the Elder’s Rights. Data were submitted to simple descriptive statistics, with nine variables: gender, age, denouncer, denounced, type of violence, month of the report, zone of the municipality, referral of processes and results. The data analysis indicates that the elderly women between 71-80 years are the greatest victims; most reports were anonymous and most aggressors belong to the family nucleus; negligence, financial exploitation and psychological abuse were the most perpetrated forms of violence and July was the month with the highest number of denunciations; the municipality area that conglomerates the most populated and vulnerable neighborhoods was the one that marked the largest concentration of denunciations. The demands were sent almost entirely to the Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance and the number of cases satisfactorily resolved has been increasing every year.

    ABSTRACT:

Medicine has become an essential object to the life of people in any country, because of the serious, chronic diseases and even pain associated with headaches, tension and fatigue. It is even a major health, regulatory and economic issue for healthcare institutions, the methods of managing, distributing and controlling these medicines differed from one company to another according to the strategies and means used in the manufacturing process. Considering that the reorganization of supply chain management is necessary in order to meet the objectives of securing the medicine circuit and rationalizing healthcare expenses. This makes it possible to control the management of medicines at the level of the normal logistic chain. We have made a state-of-the-art stock management and internal hospital traceability, while trying to develop a suitable relationship between the hospital sector and health (medicine) and the field of logistics and more precisely the implementation of traceability, Based on an empirical study containing statistics on changes in medicine stock management within state health institutions (delegation and hospitals).

Polythene is a polymerized ethylene monomer which is resistant to degradation accumulates in an environment. Polythene used in everyday life as a packaging material. Release of toxic chemicals from polythene creates negative impacts on environment and life threatening problems to many aquatic and terrestrial organisms. The present study focused on biodegradation of polythene by soil microorganisms .Isolated microorganisms were identified based on biochemical characterization as Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus. Biodegradation of polythene by isolated microorganisms were tested in vitro in both nutrient and minimal medium. After 30 days incubation period, the biodegradation of polythene was measured in terms of weight. The percentage of weight loss by staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus in nutrient medium was 32.2% and 9% respectively. The percentage of weight loss by staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus in minimal medium was 57.3% and 26% respectively. The results depict that Staphylococcus aureus are found active in degrading polythene than Bacillus cereus.

    ABSTRACT:

Durian nursery can be done by using source of generative and vegetative material. Both sources of propagation have their own weaknesses and strengths. To obtain quality seeds, the combination of two sources of propagation materials each has complementary advantages. The process of merging can be through grafting or bud buds (grafting). Connection method on durian nursery can use side grafting and bud grafting. The purpose of this research is to know the difference of carbohydrate, protein, lipids, and auxin content in various sources and storage times scion. Factorial and randomized blok design was selected in the present study. The first factor was the sourcesof scion (S), consiting of three source of stems. The stemswere primary (S1), seconday (S2), and tertiary (S3) stem. The second factor was stoage times of scion (T), comprising four level of time. The levels wee 0 day (T0), two days (T1), four days (T2), and six days (T3). Overall, there were 12 treatments in the study. It was concluded that Primary Branches, Secondary Branches and Tertiary Branches have a downward trend in line with the storage times of scion of Carbohydrate Content, Lipids Content, Water Content, and Auxin Contents unless the Protein Content tends to increase in line with the storage times of scion. The highest percentage of live grafting is influenced by carbohydrate content. The highest percentage of dorman scion is influenced by water content, the highest shoot rate is influenced by water content, the highest shoot length is influenced by water content, the highest leaf number is influenced by water content, the highest stem diameter is affected by Auxin , Leaf Area is highest influenced by Auxin, Nisba Leaf Area is highest influenced by Water Content, and Nisba Pupus The highest root is influenced by Moisture Water. Carbohydrates, Proteins, Highest Water Content is found in the Secondary Branch and Auxin is highest in Primary Branch.

    ABSTRACT:

The present study was undertaken to evaluate superficial soft tissue masses in 50 patients by gray-scale and color Doppler ultrasonography. In the study 30 males (60%) and 20 (40%) females were taken. Majority of cases (26%) were in 0-10 years age range. The swellings were mostly seen in the extremities (46%) and head and neck (22%). Out of 50 patients, there were 44 patients having benign masses and six patients with malignant masses. The benign masses were grouped as inflammatory, developmental, benign tumors and other masses. Inflammatory masses include pyogenic abscess (7), cold abscess (4), parasitic cyst (5) and foreign body (2). The developmental masses were cystic hygroma (4), haemangioma (4), dermoid (2), and throglossal duct cyst (1). Benign tumors were fibrolipoma(4), lipoma(2), neurogenic tumor(2), fibroma(1), sacrococcygeal tumor(1) and sweat gland tumor(1). In other benign masses haematoma(2) and Baker’s cyst(2) were included. On ultrasonography masses were characterized as having cystic (anechoic), solid (hypoechoic, hyperechoic or isoechoic) or complex echopattern. Though the gray scale ultrasonography helped in characterization of superficial soft tissue masses, but the differentiation between benign and malignant masses were mainly possible by color doppler sonography. All the malignant masses were vascular and majority (83.3%) has central flow signal or a combination of central and peripheral flow signal. Significant difference was found in maximum systolic velocity among benign and malignant masses in our series.
