The objective of this case is described as an unusual pathology and there should be taken into account as a differential diagnosis that is required a multidisciplinary attention to offer a better medical attention to patients. A young patient, who developed a periosteal osteogenic sarcoma, was presented likewise the different studies to get his diagnosis and treatment.
In the critical areas of a hospital, the assistance provided by health professionals is focused primarily on the patient, however the attention to family members also turns out to be of great importance. The nursing staff is in charge of informing the family members about the care for their family member, how the unit works, the multidisciplinary team, how they should behave and what they can do for the patient during the visit. To date there are few studies that report data on the attention to families and the communication process of the nursing staff.
The development of technology within the surgical field has made great advances in the diagnosis and treatment of many diseases. However, this effort to improve these aspects may condition the dehumanization of care directed to the patient. At this point, humanization has become a topical issue that worries health personnel, especially nurses, since they spend most of their time with the patient and since its inception has put human care into practice.
Study Objective: The objective of the present study was to measure the functional health literacy among healthcare professionals in twin cities of Pakistan. Design: A descriptive cross-sectional study design was used. Setting: Tertiary care hospitals, private clinics and pharmacies located in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Method: A pre-validated tool named S-TOFHLA was utilized and distributed to a sample of 382 physicians, 236 pharmacists and 382 nurses selected by convenient sampling technique. After data collection, data was coded and analyzed statistically.
Health care personnel involved in the patient's surgical care are exposed to a high risk of contracting any infection during their work by not complying with established Biosecurity Measures. We emphasize the importance of complying with the Biosafety Measures to civilian personnel who participate in surgical procedures of the patient in the Naval Medical Center, evaluating the knowledge about the Biosafety Measures. The present study is observational, transverse and descriptive, where the survey “Questionnaire of knowledge on Biosafety Measures” was applied.
Introduction: Coeliac disease is an autoimmune mediated enteropathy. It initiatesin genetically susceptible individuals upon ingestion of proline and glutamine proteins, commonly found in wheat, barley and ray. CD is perhaps the only multifactorial autoimmune disease where the antigenic trigger is well known and studied. In our study we have evaluated the clinical, laboratory, histopathology data as well as anthropometric measurements of 112 children diagnosed with CD.

Background: Day care surgeries are becoming increasingly popular in the modern times. Hence day care anaesthesia has emerged as one of the fastest growing branches in modern anaesthetic practice. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is one of the most commonly performed day care surgeries. In this study we aimed at evaluating two different approaches for day care anaesthesia in laparoscopic cholecystectomies – thoracic vs lumbar. Materials and methods: 60 ASA 1 and 2 patients who were scheduled for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomies were divided into two groups.
Background: One of the important aspect of facial esthetics is smile. Patients having malocclusion do not pose a full smile as they are conscious of the compromised esthetics of their dentition. Correction of malocclusion harmonizes the soft tissues and results in enhanced facial esthetics. In order to obtain a clinically satisfactory outcome, it is imperative one must understand that what is beautiful and attractive to the orthodontist and general dentists might not seem attractive to the patients.
Aim: The aim of this study was to detect the patterns of and reasons for permanent tooth extractions in a Saudi population in Saudi Arabia. Materials and Methods: 318 Saudi patients aged ≥10 years residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with at least one permanent tooth extracted or diagnosed for extraction were randomly selected. The Study was carried out from September 2018to December 2018. The reason for extraction was documented whether by asking the patient why his/her tooth was extracted or by clinical and radiographic examination for the tooth diagnosed for extraction.
