Aquatic macrophyte plants are found globally and exhibit a variety of growth forms along with adaptable physiological and metabolic processes that respond to changes in environmental conditions. The majority of macrophyte species are cosmopolitan, and closely related species often replace one another in the aquatic ecosystems across different regions of the world. Macrophytic vegetation encompasses both deep-water and shallow-water species, as well as those that thrive in water in emergent, submerged, or floating forms.

The theatre scheduling system is the centerpiece of the operating theatre playing a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operation of the theatre while providing the highest quality of surgical services. An efficient system helps facilities utilize the available resources optimally and adapt to changes smoothly. This study assesses the current theatre scheduling system at Vihiga County Referral Hospital.

Anaphylaxis following chromopertubation with methylene blue is rare and can be associated with serious complications. This case report discusses a 32-year-old nulliparous woman with primary infertility due to bilateral tubal blockage, who developed anaphylaxis following chromopertubation with methylene blue during a tuboplasty procedure. Immediate recognition, resuscitation with epinephrine, intravenous fluids, oxygen supplementation and close monitoring is crucial in these cases.

This study investigates the level of awareness about Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) among non-medical students at AIMST University, analysing the knowledge and misconceptions surrounding the causes, symptoms, and management of T2DM. The research aims to explore awareness differences across gender and ethnicity among students. Our sample size was 158 respondents, with participants being between 21-23 years of age from the faculties of engineering and business.

Neural tube defects are one of the common congenital birth defects and are a relative contraindication for spinal anaesthesia. Spinal anaesthesia for neural tube defects like spinal bifida occulta needs careful neurological evaluation. Neuraxial anaesthesia can be considered if the benefit outweighs the risk. Here, we are presenting a case of a spina bifida patient with a difficult airway and lower respiratory tract infection posted for above-knee amputation managed with spinal anaesthesia as an anaesthetic technique.

Background: Obesity and cardiovascular fitness are interrelated, with lifestyle management playing a crucial role in improving cardiopulmonary function. This study examines the correlation between stress test results and obesity, emphasizing lifestyle interventions. Methods: A retrospective, multi-centric, observational study was conducted from January 2024 to September 2024.

I began this article by paraphrasing a historical quote , taken from the famous “Manifesto of the Communist Party” by Karl Marx - Friedrich Engels (1848), which reads as follows: “ A spectre is haunting Europe - the spectre of communism”. I quoted it not because I have sympathies for this ideology like the authors of the manifesto, but because I am against any form of inequality and oppression, and I intend to draw attention to what is stated in the subtitle of this article, which is the thesis I want to demonstrate.
