Board leadership capacity and firm’s economic sustainability: a march towards capacity building in Nigeria

The current study investigated the effect of Board Leadership Capacity on Firm’s Economic Sustainability of Financial Services companies in Nigeria. Secondary data were obtained from published financial reports and accounts of active Financial Services companies listed on the Nigerian Exchange Group for ten years (2011 – 2020). The variables of interest are, Board Meeting, Board Independence, Board Diversity, while the dependent variable Economic Sustainability was proxied as Tobin Q (TOBQ).

Lifting the veil of secrecy in albinism: questioning personhood and normative desire in tara sullivan’s golden boy (2013)

This article questions personhood and normative desire in albinism in African literature in the fictional work of Tara Sullivan’s Golden Boy. It draws attention on the representation of disability in albinism and analyse how this shape identity, personhood, and normalcy in characters with albinism. Using Mary Douglas’s concept of dirt, the paper argues that the disability associated with albinism body forms a central plot of narrative resulting into negative body imagery which affects the identity and personhood of the persons with albinism.

An assessment of the level of access to eye health care services: a case study of onesight – Gambia

The objective of this paper is to assess the with respect to access to eye care services in The Gambia. More specifically in this paper, the scorecard assesses the level at which people have access to eye care services. The research employed both quantitative and qualitative methods. The findings disclosed that in the Gambia, majority of eye care service centers are in the urban areas which leaves the rural dwellers with no choice but to travel long distances to access eye care services facilities.

Impact of absenteeism on school failure in côte d'ivoire the case of the students of the lycée moderne d'angré in the commune of cocody in abidjan.

This study investigated The object of our study is to examine the relationship between absenteeism and school failure. It concerns a sample composed of 50 4th graders from the Lycée Moderne de Cocody Angré. This sample is obtained from the method or sample technique by reasoned and criterion-based choice. These students were submitted to a questionnaire to assess their level of absenteeism. The results show that the average rate of absenteeism obtained by the subjects who fail without a diploma is significantly higher than that of the subjects who fail with a diploma.
