    ABSTRACT:

Background: Patellar tendinopathy is characterized by progressive activity-related anterior knee pain and patellar tendon dysfunction. It is observed in sports involving running and jumping. The Victorian Institute of Sports Assessment–Patellar (VISA-P) is a questionnaire originally developed in English to assess the symptoms and repercussions of patellar tendinopathies on daily and physical activities. Purpose: To test the validity, reliability, and psychometric properties of the translated Arabic version of the VISA-P-A questionnaire in patients with patellar tendinopathy. Method: Thirty experts (3 panels) and 160 participants with mean age (of 18.93±3.29 years) were involved in this research. Test-retest and internal consistency analysis were used to test reliability. Intra-class correlation coefficient (95% CI) was used for test-retest analysis, while Cronbach’s alpha value was used to measure internal consistency. Face, content, convergent, construct, and divergent validity was evaluated for the VISA-P-A. Factor analysis and internal construct validity were assessed, and convergent and divergent validity were tested by the correlation between VISA-P-A and SF-36. Results: VISA-P-A has one factorial structure and has a very strong association with SF-36. It has a high internal consistency reliability where Cronbach α was between 0.819 and 0.887 (0.853). The test-retest analysis was 0.996, (P< 0.0001) suggesting that test-retest findings are strongly correlated. Conclusion: The Arabic version of the VISA-P questionnaire is a reliable and valid tool to assess patellar tendinopathy in the Egyptian population. Factor analysis demonstrated that it had one factor and the convergent and divergent validity of the VISA-P-A has very high levels of correlation with SF-36. Therefore, it could be recommended in the physical function assessment of patellar tendinitis for Arabic-speaking people.

    ABSTRACT:

Background: There is few researched knowledge on the tangible socio-economic impact of Internal Savings and Lending Schemes (ISALS) on women in Zimbabwe. This study which was informed by the African Feminist Theory, is expected to add to the body of knowledge through examining the tangible-socio-economic life changing stories in women participating in ISALS in Mt Darwin District of Zimbabwe. As such, it sought answers to the following question; What are the tangible socio-economic changes in women that have been brought about by their participation in ISALS in Mt Darwin District? The findings might be helpful to inform the Government and development agencies on what to adopt, modify or improve in terms of the ISALS methodology/model for the betterment of the rural poor women. Materials and Methods: In this qualitative study, a Purposive Sampling was used to select 10 highly performing ISALS out of 18 of them in 10 sampled wards in Mt Darwin District. This aforesaid sampling method was further employed to select 24 information-rich chairpersons, secretaries and other ISALS leaders, and representatives from the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Political, Administrative Leadership and Non-Governmental Organisations. The same sampling method was also used to select participants for Focus Group Discussions. A Thematic approach was used in data analysis. Results:The findings showed that women in ISALS had managed to build modern standard houses, own near cash-assets such as goats, chickens and cows, others had income generating projects such as peanut butter and oil pressing machines, grinding mills and maputi (popcorn) guns while others had taken leadership roles in their communities which enhanced their social status. The majority had managed to send their children to school and were able to meet basic requirements such as tuition fees, uniforms and stationery. All ISALS groups had savings of between US$500 and US$6000 which were kept by the treasurers and in rare cases by secretaries. With regards to the above savings, it was recommended that those ISALS with savings above two thousand United States Dollars should consider graduating into Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOS) which highly enhance sustainability. Conclusion: The study established that most of the findings were in tandem with the few studies conducted in Zimbabwe and quite a number in other African countries and beyond. The study revealed that, with appropriate business and financial training and supportive policies, ISALS can empower women, transform their homes, improve and sustain household welfare and incomes. As such, the study concludes that ISALS are a potent mechanism/model for addressing the tangible socio-economic marginalisation of women in Mt Darwin. Resultantly, ISALS have been transforming women’s lives socially and economically.

    ABSTRACT:

Purpose: The outbreak of COVID-19 severely impacted economic activities across the globe. Since then, business have been struggling to adjust to the changing circumstances and meet the challenges due to changes in the workplace. This paper presents an overview of new work arrangements, such as working from home or with a virtual team, and new challenges for employees, such as social isolation, stress, and unemployment. Methods: 646 documents published between 2020 and 2023 were analyzed for this paper. "COVID-19" and "human resource management" were the keywords used to retrieve the data from the SCOPUS database. Bibliometric analysis has been done to know the patterns in research in terms of the most prominent disciplines, publications, journals, authors, institutions, and countries. To visualize the results, RStudio and VOSviewer have been used. Results: The study of publication patterns reveals that the United States was leading in the number of COVID-19-related publications. J. Wang was the top author, and the BMJ was the top source. The National Institute of Environmental Health was the leading organization, and the co-occurrence of keywords analysis identified “COVID-19,” “human resource management,” “pandemic,” and “crisis management” as the most frequent words. Conclusion: The United States of America and China have been coming with maximum publications in COVID-19 research. COVID-19-related studies were more frequently published in BMJ.

    ABSTRACT:

This paper aims to study customers' intentional behavior using the E-tourism service by applying the TAM model. There were 176 valid questionnaires put into the analysis system of SPSS. The result indicates that two factors are not significantly affected by intentional behavior toward E-tourism services, including perceived ease and cost. The four remaining factors have impacted intention behavior toward E-tourism services: perceived usefulness, risk awareness, Subjective norm, and Perceived behavioral control. The t-test and ANOVA test results cannot find the difference in intention behavior in using E-tourism services among customer demographics. The result also indicates that the intended behavior of the customers in using E-tourism services is low, with a mean value just above three scores. The conclusion, recommendations, limitations, and future research suggestions are also discussed in this study.

    ABSTRACT:

The study aimed to investigate the impact of blended learning on the English-speaking abilities of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) learners, utilizing debate and extempore techniques. The research followed a quasi-experimental design with three stages: pre-observation, intervention, and post-observation. The study included a total of 42 participants, comprising 20 girls and 22 boys in the sixth grade. The experimental group engaged in blended learning activities within a designated classroom, while the control group received traditional English language training. Pre- and post-intervention evaluations of the speaking abilities were conducted for both groups. The experimental group received instruction through integrated learning techniques, which incorporated elements of both online and face-to-face instruction. The study's results revealed that blended learning had a positive impact on students' English-speaking skills. Additionally, the research demonstrated that both extempore and debate techniques were effective in improving English speaking. Based on the findings, the study recommends that teachers incorporate blended learning approaches to enhance their students' speaking abilities. Furthermore, English language instructors are encouraged to explore new methods and employ blended learning to improve student learning outcomes. It is important to note that the study was conducted at a single school, and therefore, the conclusions should not be generalized to other educational settings without further research or replication of the study in different contexts.
