    ABSTRACT:

Regression analysis has been employed previously to express Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) VA in terms of its subjective equivalent. Bland-Altman analysis was also used in the modelling process to check for good agreement between test methods before deriving the regression equation. However, application of these methods to the full range of electrophysiological/subjective VA comparisons resulted in few making the cut for full analysis. This article considers the statistical parameters that were used in the past, and how they could be relaxed to increase inclusion in meta-analysis. The regression coefficient of VEP VA is the recommended ‘effect size’, and where a more sophisticated meta-analysis is possible, the degree of heteroscedasticity is proposed as a second variable.

    ABSTRACT:

Nurses are the only frontline professionals of the healthcare team that spend maximum time at the patient bedside. As a part of the nursing process, nurses generate and record pertinent patient information which primarily forms the basis for the decisions made by the healthcare team. Continued commitment to maintaining nursing excellence and quality nursing documentation remains crucial. Quality nursing documentation isa prerequisite for a safe and effective nursing care. Substandard nursing documentation poses risk to evaluation and outcomes of patient care. Despite so much attentionbeingfocused on quality nursing documentation, deficiencies in nursing documentation however, continue to exist. In order to resolve these insufficiencies, it is paramount to identify, develop and operationalize strategies to improve quality of nursing documentation. Electronic health records are being promoted as a strategy for exchange of pertinent patient information among members of the health care team while protecting patients’ privacy and improving the safety, efficacy and quality of care. It is believed that technology will help improve clinical decision-making ability, ensure better quality of patient care and contain healthcare cost. However, operationalizing a change in practice in healthcare environment has the tendency to create unease among nurses with the risk of making them defiant to the change. The main aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of electronic nursing documentation programme in terms of quality of nursing documentation and nurses’ perception. It was also planned to ascertain nurses’ acceptability and utility of the electronic nursing documentation programme. The objectives of the study were to: assess and compare the quality of paper based and electronic nursing documentation; explore the perception of nurses regarding electronic nursing documentation before and after the implementation of electronic nursing documentation programme; ascertain opinion of nurses regardingacceptability and utility of electronic nursing documentation programme; determine the relationship between perception and acceptability and utility of nurses exposed to electronic nursing documentation programme. This quasi-experimental study with one group pretest posttest design was conducted in a tertiary teaching hospital of Haryana. The sample included; 152 randomly selected paper-based nursing records, 644 electronic nursing records selected by total enumeration and 44 nurses working in selected units using total enumeration sampling technique. In phase I, 152 randomly selected paper-based nursing records were reviewed to examine the quality of paper based nursing documentation from day 1 to day 75. In the phase II, day 1 was assigned to assessment of nurses’ perception regarding electronic nursing documentation. Day 2 to day 5 were dedicated to; sensitization of nurses regarding basic computer functions; electronic nursing documentation and hands on practice by nurses to familiarize themselves with computers. The implementation of the END programme comprised of 19 days of training programme for the nurses from day 6 to day 24. Nurses received training on the five modules of electronic nursing documentation programme that includeddemonstration of electronic documentation of the module by the investigator and hand on practice by the nurses till at least one correct return demonstration. Modules I (patient profile) and II (health assessment) were introduced from day 6 to 8 and day 9 to 11 respectively. Modules III (vital signs) and IV (intake output) were introduced together from day 12 to 14. module V (medication administration and need based care)was introduced from day 15 to 17. Day 18 to day 24 were dedicated to handholding that included; open discussions with nurses, obtaining feedback, clarification of doubts, reinforcement and practice of all the five modules of electronic nursing documentation programme together. On day 100 of phase II, nurses’ perception and acceptability and utility of END programme was assessed. Data was analyzed using SPPS 20.2. The level of significance was kept at 0.05. Findings revealed that END programme was effective in improving the overall quality of nursing documentation in terms of patient profile, admission, intake, output, medication administration and need based care and nurses’ perception regarding electronic nursing documentation. However, no improvement was seen in quality of electronic nursing documentation in terms of vital signs. In addition, nurses expressed END programme to be highly acceptable and useful. Low positive but non- significant relationship was established between the nurses’ perception and acceptability and utility of END programme. Further studies can be undertaken to; identify and develop strategies for best practices and standards for improved, streamlined nursing documentation; explore the factors that contribute to poor nursing documentation; include nursing process, nursing care plan in electronic nursing documentation; examine the various types of hardware and supporting equipment used in electronic documentation, such as computers on wheels and handheld devices and how different types of equipment enhance compliance with use and accessibility; compare the quality of nursing documentation and nurses’ perception in private and public sector.

    ABSTRACT:

Background: Smart phones are no longer only a communication device but serve as a substitute for the home computer and have internet related access as well as a camera that with its high resolution now substitutes the camera we call it as “Selfie camera”. Selfie have now become a major trend and smart phone manufacturers are ensuring that they provide good front cameras in phone and technology is adapting this social trend of self portraits to rule the world. A “selfie” is defined as a self portrait photograph that a person has taken oneself, typically with a smartphone or webcam and then shared via social media like whatsapp, facebook, twitter, etc. Psychiatrists are beginning to consider the compulsion to take selfies as a serious mental health problem, although precise mechanism of selfie-syndrome isn’t known but it is assumed to be due to imbalance between the excitatory & inhibitory neurotransmitter, serotonergic pathway could also be involved. Method: For this study, an evaluative technique was applied. The data is collected using a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The Video assisted teaching programme regarding impact of selfie taking behavior and its impact on health was the study's independent variable, while the Attitude of nursing students regarding Selfie taking behavior and its impact on health was the dependent variable. The study was conducted from April 2022 to June 2022 among 60 subjects; the collected data was analyzed and interpreted using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The present study reveals that the overall behavioral scores of respondents were found to be 51.33% with standard deviation 4.59 in pre test. The overall behavioral scores of respondents were found to be 40.1% with standard deviation 3.142 in post test. The obtained "t" value 17.385 is greater than the table value at 0.01 level of significance. Therefore, "t" value is found to be significant. It means there is reduction in behavioral level of nursing student. Conclusion: Study demonstrated that the Video teaching programme on selfies taking behavior and its impact on health is effective in decreasing the behavioral level of nursing students.

Introduction: Strength of the quadriceps and hamstring of a person is determined by individual gender, age and individuals physical activity. There seems to be a difference in strength of quadriceps and hamstring in male and female but no study has been done to study the same. Hence this study Aims to find out the difference between strength of quadriceps and hamstring Muscle among college students. Methodology: 120 Individuals both male and female between the age group of 18-25 who actively consented to participate and had no history of disease or difficulty with walking or musculoskeletal disorder were taken from Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy. Quadriceps and Hamstring strength was measured by using FET2 dynamometer. Results: The demographic characteristics were tabulated and the difference between the strength of male and female in hamstrings and quadriceps muscles were calculated in the form of Mean ±SD. Conclusion: From our study we conclude that quadriceps strength was higher than hamstring strength. Also while considering the gender males were seen to have higher quadriceps and hamstring strength compared to female. This could have been because men has more of type II muscle fibers while women has more of type I muscle fibers.

    ABSTRACT:

With the famous quote of Leonardo Da Vinci, ‘Water is the driving force of all Nature’, water conservation is mandatory item of human being. Even though the India’s current water supply is 740 billion cubic meters, water demand will reach 1.5 trillion cubic meters in 2030. About forty percentages of the people in India may not get water to drink by 2030. Many of the states are rich in water resources and some states are struggling for fresh water. As per UNICEF, by 2040, roughly one in four children worldwide will be living in areas of extremely high water stress. Poor quality of water negatively affects ecosystems and human health, and makes water unfit for many purposes which results reduction of water resources availability. Information technology, especially Internet of water has tremendous role in water management. This paper is an eye opener to water resources and scarcity in India and role of IoT to solve the same for some extend

    ABSTRACT:

Introduction: Microvascular free flaps are a reconstructive option that allows the treatment of large and complex defects. Normally the loss of free flaps is due to arterial or venous compromise, that´s why adequate flap postoperative monitoring is essential and allows to identify vascular compromise, and perform a timely surgical reintervention, in order to achieve the salvage of the flap. Materials and methods: An exhaustive review of the literature was performed in different databases like PubMed and Cochrane, about the existing evidence on postoperative monitoring of microvascular free flaps. The terms “free flap” and “monitoring” were used for the search and articles written in English and Spanish were included. Results: Clinical monitoring is the Gold Standard for the detection of vascular compromise in a microvascular free flap. This method and the manual Doppler ultrasound are the methods of choice for flap monitoring. Other methods, such as the implantable Doppler, have higher flap recovery rates than the previous ones, although it is less cost-effective. Conclusions: Postoperative monitoring through clinical observation, the use of manual Doppler ultrasound, and other more complex methods such as implantable Doppler are monitoring methods that allow quick reintervention of flaps with vascular compromise, in order to avoid flap loss.

    ABSTRACT:

The article analyzes in detail the issues of the technological mode of operation of wells of the Altyguyi gas condensate field. Increasing the technological regime, as well as providing conditions for better extraction of fluids (condensate and water) from the bottom of wells, as a result, will increase the economic indicators of development as a whole, which should correspond to the concept of reducing the duration of field development. The analysis of the current technical mode of operation of gas condensate wells of the Altyguyi field was carried out using the gas-hydrodynamic mode of operation of wells, as well as calculated indicators characterizing the process of retrograde condensation occurring both in the well and in the bottom (depression) zone of the formation. And also, discusses the design of gas condensate wells, as well as views on measures to ensure the required operating modes of wells. The established technological regime of wells should be understood as a set of the main parameters of its operation, ensuring the receipt of oil, liquid and gas samples provided for in the technological design document for this period and compliance with operating reliability conditions. The technological mode of wells provides regulation of the development process and is characterized by the following main parameters: a) formation, bottom-hole and wellhead pressures; b) fluid flow rate, water content and gas factor; c) the standard sizes of the installed operational equipment and its operating modes (elevator design, suspension depth and pump diameter, performance, number of swings, stroke length, developed pressure, etc.). When drawing up technological design documents for industrial development, the choice of design development options for comparison is made taking into account the features of the geological structure, reservoir and filtration characteristics of productive formations, the need to create conditions for maximum possible coverage of their impact and effective drainage, physico-chemical properties of saturating fluids, experience in the development of deposits with similar conditions, economic and geophysical features of the area, requirements for the protection of mineral resources and the environment. In all project documents, one of the considered development options is highlighted as a basic option. As a rule, it is an approved development option according to the latest project document, taking into account changes in the size of oil reserves. For large fields with wide water-oil and sub-gas zones containing significant oil reserves, design development options are considered with the allocation of these zones into independent development facilities. At the same time, design solutions for the systems of development, technology and techniques for the operation of wells in the oil, water and oil and gas parts of the fields should be interconnected.

Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological factors for thoracic esophageal cancer after radical esophagectomy, and provide the criteria to outline the target volume for adjuvant radiotherapy. Methods: Data from 803 patients with thoracic esophageal cancer who underwent radical esophagectomy between January 2014 and December 2018 were reviewed. The lymph nodes metastases and the clinicopathological factors for esophageal cancer were stratified by univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses. Results: A total of 6,216 lymph nodes were dissected with an average of 9.5 lymph nodes. The lymph nodes metastases in the upper thoracic esophagus were mainly observed in the supraclavicular and paratracheal regions (P<0.05), metastatic lymph nodes in the middle thoracic esophagus were bidirectional, and those in the lower third of the esophagus mainly metastasized to the regions adjacent to the esophagus, the cardia and the left gastric artery (P< 0.05). For the whole group, the lymph node metastases rate was 32.2% for upper thoracic esophageal cancers, which was significantly lower than 44.0% for lower thoracic esophageal cancers (P=0.049) and 44.3%of middle thoracic esophageal cancers (P = 0.030). Multivariate analyses showed that patient performance status, T- stage, tumor length, and distant metastases were factors associated with overall survival, with P< 0.05 for all. Conclusion: Patient performance status, T- stage, tumor length, distant metastases, and operative procedures were the most important factors for overall survival. Therefore, in clinical practice, patients undergoing postoperative prophylactic radiotherapy may be selected according to these factors.

The expression of electrophysiological Visual Acuity as an equivalent subjective score in a population requires a regression model. Where data are not normally distributed, and/or heteroscedastic, then a linear regression is not appropriate, and so an alternative method is presented-the Passing and Bablok (PB) regression. The choice of units, and conversion between them is also discussed given PBs need for common units, and the likelihood of a normal distribution given this choice of units is considered.

    ABSTRACT:

Application of microbial pesticides offers great potential for crop protection due to the rising costs of conventional pesticides and rising instances of pesticide toxicity. Entomopathogenic fungi are among the insect-killing fungi that hold great promise for lowering pest populations in agriculture and forestry. The wide range of entomopathogenic fungal biological control agents, which allows one isolate to cover several insect species, is one of its benefits for pest management. Due to its capacity to produce a variety of chemically diverse secondary metabolites, including Beauvericin, Beauveria bassiana, also known as "Sugar Icing Fungus," is a superior entomopathogenic fungus. However, secondary metabolite beauvericins contribute to the contamination of eggs, milk, meat, and plant products, allowing apoptosis and mitochondrial impairment.Concerns about its use should be investigated since harmful Beauveria species metabolites may infiltrate the plants. Beauveria bassiana's potential for cytotoxicity and genotoxicity was assessed using the Allium cepa test. In this work, the chromosomal aberration in Allium cepa was explicitly counted, quantified, and the dose and time response correlations between the B.bassiana crude extract and chromosomal aberrations were examined. The method described above was used to determine B.bassiana's potential for cytotoxicity and genotoxicity. In this experiment, 10 onion bulbs were suspended in distilled water as control and 10%, 30%, and 50% concentrations of Entomopathogenic fungal (EPF) culture and crude extract for 48 hours. The mitotic index, micronucleus in interphase, and chromosomal aberrations in mitotic phases were determined by looking at and counting at least 100 cells on each slide. Nine slides were grouped for each treatment group after the experiment was duplicated three times, with three roots for each replication. Mitotic index and frequency of chromosomal aberration based on the number of aberrant cells per total cells scored at each concentration of each sample were calculated and data obtained from the mitotic index calculation were analyzed using Analysis of Variance Technique (ANOVA) at significant level of p < 0.05 using SPSS Program Version 17. Duncan’s multiple range test was performed to determine the significant differences between treatments (p < 0.05).It was discovered that the effects of Beauveria bassiana crude extract on Allium cepa's mitotic index and chromosomal aberrations were dose-dependent, thus B.bassiana crude extract exhibits cytotoxic and genotoxic effects at various doses and treatment intervals. This finding can serve as the foundation for further investigation into the ideal field application method and optimum B.bassiana concentration for entomopathogenic fungus.

Text Classification is one of the most familiar use cases of NLP. The most common type of text classification problem includes spam identification, news text categorization, movie genre category prediction, sentiment analysis, etc. There can be a variety of use cases for every domain. The major disadvantages of the seq2seq model are we lose the dependency information, difficulty remembering the lengthy conversation, exploding gradient problems, etc while transformer-based models pay attention to the sequential words, as well as words far away from each other, their ability of learning, is more rigorous and better than seq2seq models giving higher prediction accuracy. This paper focuses on the multiple transformer pre-trained models that can be leveraged for text classification problems.

Materials and Methods: The sample consisted of 68 freshly exfoliated or extracted (for orthodontic purposes) sound primary molars. Standardized buccal class V cavities were prepared in all teeth and then restored with Equia Forte Fil according to manufacturer’s instructions. The samples were randomly allocated into two groups (n=34). Group I [Experimental] (n=34): teeth restored with Equia Forte Fil in addition toEquia Forte Coat. Group II [Control](n=34): teeth restored with Equia Forte Fil only. The samples were immersed in 5ml artificial saliva and fluoride release was evaluated on the 1st, 3rd, 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th days using fluorine ion-specific electrode. After 28 days, each group was further divided into 2 subgroups (n=17). Subgroup A [Experimental (n=17): Treated with Enamel Pro Varnish. Subgroup B[Control](n=17): received no fluoride treatment. The amount of fluoride re-release was measured at the same time intervals. Data was analyzed using Independent t test, Repeated measures ANOVA with post hoc Bonferroni test. R Significance level was set at P≤0.05. Results: There was a statistically significant difference (P≤0.0001) in fluoride release and recharge between the 2 groups, where Group IIdrastically released more fluoride. Time had a significant effect on fluoride release within subgroups IA and IIA on specific days, as the amount of fluoride progressively decreased throughout the study. As for subgroups IB and IIB data was constant. Conclusions: The application of the nano-filled resin coat had a dramatic effect in reducing fluoriderelease and recharge capabilities of Equia Forte Fil.
